Located about 1h drive from the Algarve and 1h 30mn from Lisbon, I've found this great place ...

The fishing is perfect, with loads of Carp, Barbell and Bass in a 1953 dated 140 acre water with depths that vary from 30'+ to 10' average. It's quite easy to make a 10' swim at about 80 meters casting range.

There are not many underwater obstacles so fishing is quite clean.

This is not an on purpose built Fishery. This water was built for irrigation purposes and fish was stocked in ... Over 50 years ago!

For now the biggest fish we got out was a 18 Lbs common but we are pretty sure there are 30 Lbs+ fish in there and maybe even 40+ Lbs.

And we are talking about "Wild" fish. You'll realise that when you set your hook on one of them ...

The weather is great (even in winter time) and you're just something like 500 yds away from a Rural Hotel in the middle of a working farm that can supply you rooms, food and drink (even served at the bivvie), seeds, etc.

A perfect destination for an Off Season session ...!!!

Back at the Hotel you can have a nice shower, take a swim at the swimming pool that is so very refreshing after a nice session.

If you prefer, the bar can also take care of your refreshment needs ...

Our red wine is nice and the beer too ...

Can you wish for something better than a nice rest after a session?

And once you've recovered ...

Time to go back to the swim!
